Swiss Thoughts

I’ve heard of swiss cheese, swiss chocolate, and even swiss bank accounts, but there’s no such thing as swiss thoughts. Yeah, your thoughts or feelings towards something may start out neutral, but they won’t remain that way.

What are you talking about, Melissa?

Okay. Let me explain. I was under the silly impression that if something bad happened to me and my initial response was indifferent, I was unfazed. I’d walk away thinking that “it didn’t bother me.” Little did I know that if I didn’t pick a side, a side would be picked for me. I had no idea that If I didn’t immediately “make up my mind” to line up with the Word, outside influences would “make up my mind” to be offended, hurt, upset, angry, and the list goes on. And, when I say “outside influences,” I mean the “suggestive serpent” (look at me trying to make it sound fancy! i.e. the devil). Leave it to him and you’ll start rewinding that bad situation over and over in your head, and, on top of that, people will say things to you like “that couldn’t have been me!” Next thing you know, you’ve packed up your bags and moved from Switzerland.

To be honest, Switzerland aka neutrality is not a place to reside, but when you “relocate” or change your mind, let the Word decide where you go. No matter how you feel (even if you feel like you’re good) it’s so important to make sure the Word is the first response to every situation. It makes the difference between being proactive and being reactive: setting the proper foundation so “weeds” cannot penetrate vs going back and trying to uproot all the “weeds” that got to your mind first.

…In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success. Proverbs 3:6 (TLB) **G.I.G.**
