One Year Later

April 27th made a year since I moved to Atlanta. I can’t believe how fast time flew. It feels like I just moved a couple months ago! But, it’s been a year, and what a great year it’s been…Weeeell, to be completely honest, I didn’t  feel “great” about my decision to move at first. I actually questioned whether or not I missed God, because I felt like I was in over my head at work and I was depressingly lonely when I got off. Don’t get me wrong, I had/have some pretty awesome friends in Atlanta, but everyone’s so spread out and busy with their own lives.  Subsequently, I was “forced” to turn to God. When I would l usually call up a friend to hang out, I spent time with God instead. I initially felt lonely, but looking back, that was the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. Sometimes we need to shut out the world around us and all it’s distraction just to get close to God…

Needless to say, my uncomfortable status didn’t last long. I started to get the hang of things a work, and the fact that I work with great people (we’re like family) made the process much better. Also, I prayed that God would bless me with more friendships. And, boy oh boy, did I make new friends. I branched out and introduced myself to more people (totally out of of my typically shy character). Now, I rarely go a weekend without having something to do. And, most importantly, the people God placed in my life are of like-kind faith. I’ve never had so many close friends that I could relate to spiritually.

This move has been more than anything I could’ve asked for or thought. I’ve experienced tremendous spiritual growth: From my initial time of loneliness, which taught me to rely on God for companionship, to my current status of being blessed with so many remarkable friends, who constantly point me to God. This experience has definitely strengthened my walk with Christ, and taking the time to look back on the past year with God really excites me on what’s to come…This past year has re-taught me that God does hears my prayers and He always has the best answer. I just have to be patient and trust Him. #TheresMoreInStore **G.I.G.**

P.S. – I just wanted to add that God hooked me up to an AMAZING church, which resulted in me joining an AMAZING small group and becoming apart of AMAZING ministries in the church!
