Quick Testimony – Last week I got myself into a situation, which caused me to spend too much money. I don’t usually stress over money, but I was grieved because it’s my heart’s desire is to be a good steward of what God gives me. So, I prayed about it, and I felt in my spirit that God would restore it.

Fast forward a few days later: On Sunday after church, I traveled home a back way that I rarely go, and upon approaching a gas station, “Something” told me to pull in and get some gas. Side Note: this is not like me because I still had a quarter tank of gas, and I usually don’t fill up until my light comes on. LoL!…So I’m at the pump, and when I tried to pre-pay, it wouldn’t accept my payment. It just said “begin fueling,” so I began fueling. While pumping I noticed that a message appeared on the screen that said “pre-paid” and a dollar amount. Do you know the amount that was pre-paid to the pump was the exact amount that I overspent earlier that week?!

I know this seems like a small testimony, but it truly encouraged me. It reminded me that God hears me when I pray, and He cares about everything that concerns me – no matter how small. This encounter also illuminated  Matthew 6:25-34 for me. In that passage, Jesus reassures us that there’s no need to worry about our needs being met when we seek Him first…”Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33 NLT). Seeking the Kingdom of God above all else basically means to consider Him first; to fill your thoughts with Him, and His way of doing things. When I realized that I spent too much money, my first concern was being a good steward over what God had given me (I was more concerned about God’s desires than my own). Then, I prayed about it and got peace.

So, be encouraged. God hears you when you call. Just remember to put Him first, first in your desires; first in your thoughts; and first in your response (i.e. first in your life). **G.I.G.**
