Hindering God’s Blessing

Vintage clock necklace heart shaped 10771

Hello! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. If not, I pray your week will have a grand finale!…Today, I have the honor of sharing an awesome poem with you. It portrays the perfect picture of how our impatience and lack of trust can hinder God’s perfect will for our lives. This poem truly resonates with me, because so often I find myself being anxious and impatient when it comes to believing God for something. When I respond to God that way, I rarely think about the fact that it’s a poor reflection of my love for Him. Love is patient and love trusts (1 Corinthians 13)…and when you wait, you get the best! Check out this poem and be encouraged:

There may be instances
where we hinder God’s blessing
in our lives, because as He is
in the midst of resolving what
worries us, we interrupt that process
by tapping into His compassion
for us as the worrying bodies.
We make our feelings more important
than the patience He needs from us.
It’s as though He has to stop preparing
the blessing because we try to make
our cries too loud to ignore.
His recipe for us is affected by
our everlasting hunger to have more,
or have what we think we need now.
Did we not know that God is the greatest
multi-tasker ever?
Or did we selfishly pray for our current
emotions as if His will was too far away?
Still, we receive His blessing,
but we should consider how perfect
the uninterrupted version would be.
Still, I’m grateful nonetheless.
Thank you, Lord!
