Proof

This pass weekend I celebrated two anniversaries. The first one was the 1 year anniversary of Fruit of My Branches! Yes, Sunday marked a year since the blog has been up an running!! This pass year flew by. It doesn’t even feel like it’s been a year! And, I’m so grateful that God has kept me loaded with ideas and content for the blog. God definitely deserves ALL the glory!

The other milestone I celebrated was my grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. I am completely in awe. A marriage with such longevity is unheard of these days, but regardless of what everyone around them is doing they stay true to the vows they took in 1953. Since I’ve never been married but I want to get married someday, I look to their marriage as proof that a long lasting marriage is possible. So often the dreams of believers fizzle out because they don’t have proof that it’s possible. Instead they’re surrounded by evidence of nothing but impossibilities. The testimony of others is what helps to fuel our faith. Just knowing that someone else achieved what you’re believing for lets you know it’s possible for you too.

For example, I’ve actually been at a car dealership with someone and watched them pay almost $30K in cash for a car. Experiencing that let me know that I don’t have to finance a car to purchase it. Also, in my line of work, I’ve seen people pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash for a house (no mortgage at all)…Experiencing others defy the norm builds your faith, increase your expectancy, and causes you to challenge your faith & think “why not me too?!”

The world will tell you that marriage doesn’t work & divorce is at an all time high. The world will tell you that you have to finance a car and/or house in order to buy it. BUT, the Word says that we can do all things through Christ Jesus. Who’s report will you believe?…Get you some “proof” and stand on God’s Word/promises! **G.I.G.**

P.S. – I am not dismissing the fact that all these things take work. They won’t just happen overnight, but what I am encouraging you to do is find “proof” to help remove the “ceiling” from your faith. Just because something is difficult or “abnormal” (in terms of the norms of society) doesn’t mean it’s impossible. When you take the “ceiling” off your faith, then God can help you defy the odds (God is limited by the limits you put on your faith). He can give you wisdom to add length to your marriage; He can hook you up with people to help you invest/save your money so you can pay cash for that dream car and/or house…
