New Season

I never really experienced the reality of “there’s a time & a season for everything” until just recently. When I was in grade school, my dad lived in Atlanta for a few years (due to his job), and, whenever my brother and I came up to visit, I loved it. Of course I was excited to spend time with my dad, but I also enjoyed experiencing the city. It was back then that I knew I wanted to live in Atlanta someday. Well, years passed, and I graduated from high school and attended a local university, while many of my friends moved away to places such as Atlanta to attend school. Eventually my best friend (i.e. sister) moved to ATL too, but I stayed in Savannah (because I didn’t want the headache of trying to transfer credits). Although I made several “tentative” plans over the years to relocate, it never happened…that is until last weekend. What was so different about this time? I believe it was “the right season.” In addition to prayer, I knew it was time because everything practically fell into place with little to no effort, and in the past, I kept running into a brick wall.

It all started with the unsolicited, but very much needed, no-cost loan modification of my mortgage, which lowered my monthly payment and gave me the option to rent my place (I previously tried to sell it, but I was repeatedly unsuccessful). Then, there was the task of finding a tenant. I really didn’t know how to go about it, but God made it extremely easy. During a casual conversation with someone I knew, the topic came up about renting my place and they agreed to be my tenant. Next, there was the daunting task of finding a new job! You don’t understand; I had been at the same job for 9 years, and my bosses and co-workers were like family. How was I suppose to find another one of those? All things are possible with God!…I sent out my resume on a Monday & Tuesday, had 3 interviews by that Friday, and had a job with the salary I requested two hours after the last interview (the employer actually mentioned in the interview that they had such a hard time finding someone to fill the position in Atlanta that they figured they had to find someone outside of the area). Oh, and did I mention that the atmosphere at my new place of employment reminds me of a family?! AND, I had favor with finding the right apartment!…GOD IS GOOD!

I hope this testimony encourages you guys. Don’t give up your faith! God hears the smallest whispers of your heart, and He wants your desires for you more than you do. He just has a perfect plan and He wants it to be right. He wants you to be ready. He doesn’t want to give you something that will destroy you if it’s received prematurely. Timing is crucial. Trust God. He has your best interest at heart! **G.I.G.**
