Love Here To Stay

Some years ago I had quite the scare. I was walking with my mom in the hallway of our church, and someone stopped us to let my mom know they were praying for her to receive her healing. Healing?! My mom was perfectly fine. Why would a church member be praying for her healing? It was then that I found out that my mom had health issues (that’s all I’ll say for now; I’ll share more in a later post). It wasn’t the best way to find out, but I understand why she kept it from me.  Honestly, just the thought of losing my mom put so much fear on the inside of me. I couldn’t lose my mom! What would I do without her?! (I’m getting emotional just typing this). Well, the good news is my mom is still alive. Thank God! But, that experience really made me cognoscente of my own health. It sparked an interest in me to start living better. Shortly thereafter, I “tried” to do better, but it wasn’t until recently that I actually did better (i.e. changing my eating habits & exercising regularly).

So, what does this have to do with “Love Month”? Well, generally, when you take care of your body, you live longer; and, when you live longer, you Love longer. Our commission as Christians is to go into all the world (our surroundings), and share the Good News. And, we’re also called to Love. It’s our Love that lets others know we’re followers of Christ. What I’m trying to say is when Christians pass away prematurely, it’s like being forced into “early retirement.” Of course we get the “benefits” of Heaven, but we don’t get to carry out the rest of our work; we don’t get to keep sharing God’s Love. I don’t want my life or my Love to be cut short. I want to live a long life, so I can love my family, and also so I can show the world what God’s Love is really like…As Christians, it should be our mission to make sure we live as long as we can so we can continue showing the world His Love. **G.I.G.**

P.S. – Here’s another video…This woman is amazing! She’s 97 (but looks like she’s in her 60’s), and she’s still going strong! I wanna be like that! Why not?! #TeamLongLife

…also her daughter is in her 60’s, but she looks like she’s in her 30’s!!! WoW!
