More Word

Source.

A couple years ago we had a guest speaker at our church, and one of the things she said really stuck with me. She said, “If you want to possess more things you have to hear more Word.” I never thought of it that way, but it’s so true because faith comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17 & check out James 1:22). And, faith is the “ticket,” the “title deed,” the evidence/proof that you will receive what you hope for (Hebrews 11:1). So, it sounds like it all begins with the Word. The Word is what gives birth to your faith, and your faith is what gives birth to your desires (i.e. what you’re believing for). The more Word you ingest, the more you feed your faith. I cannot express how important it is to strengthen your faith. Faith is the “currency” by which we receive anything in the Kingdom of God. And, many times people take on things that are too heavy for their faith (i.e. their faith is not strong enough), and then they think God doesn’t answer prayer or God didn’t do His part. No, we need to strengthen our faith, and we do that by hearing more Word. **G.I.G.**

P.S. – Faith is like a muscle. If you want to strengthen your muscles, you go to the gym and start lifting weights (“strength training”). But, if you’re a beginner, you don’t start off with 100lbs; you start off with 3lbs and work your way up. Likewise, if you’re just starting to “exercise” your faith, I wouldn’t start off believing for healing of cancer. I would start off believing God for healing of hiccups or a sore throat…The more you work your faith, the more you build your confidence in God, and the stronger your faith becomes.
