It’s New Year’s Eve 2012, and tomorrow will bring a whole new year. What are your resolutions? Most people desire to lose weight, so their resolution is to hit the gym. Others aspire to better themselves, so their resolution involves college registration. Those are both excellent resolutions (I’m currently working on the former), but I desire to be available. I do not pride myself in being the best time manager, but I want to make more time to be available to God and His plans. Sometimes we get so caught up in our plans that we do not seek God to see what He needs us to do. My favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” In the scriptures leading up to that verse, it talks about the common needs and desires of man, and, in response, God is basically saying if you seek Him and what He desires you to do, everything you need will be taken care of. So, in essence, when you pursue God’s plans and His desires, you are actually pursuing yours as well. Another great scripture tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord (i.e. His will) and He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4)…So, this new year before you start working on your resolutions, I encourage you to seek God to see what He wants you to do first, and, as a result, your desires will come to past.

P.S. – This is a remake of an old song by Rev. Milton Brunson. I thought it was the perfect song for this post. Plus, the lyrics are awesome!…”Use me, Lord.” **G.I.G.**
