The past few weeks have been interesting. I lost about 5-7lbs within a week’s time. Yay! I guess. It was as a result of consuming only liquids & extra, extra soft foods for a week. Yep, I’m referring to the post-wisdom-teeth-removal-period. I pride myself in having a high tolerance for pain, BUT that was a different kind of pain! I can laugh at it NOW, though…I’m not going to lie, I laughed a lot during that time too (I’m addicted to laughing).

Well, although I was unable to exercise during that time, I did put my recovery time to good use – I started my “Healthy Living Binder.” It’s basically a compilation of all the tips and recipes I’ve accumulated so far (most of which came from my trainer). And, I made sure there’s plenty room for more!

Also, since I couldn’t sleep that night after my surgery, I took some “before” pics. Can’t wait until I start making progress. It will be awesome to see the before and after shots side by side. Here’s a few of the photos:

My main area of concentration is my mid-section. I know I don’t have a lot to lose, but this is my goal:

I understand that my waist may not look exactly like hers, but this photo is definitely motivation!

Lastly, I turned in my food journal, and I received my assessment results a couple days ago.  Without further ado, here’s my “report card” and her comments (verbatim):

Comments: Welcome to the start of your healthy lifestyle! Your report card is based on your past two weeks prior to your medical redshirt aka tooth problems. Overall, you lack a consistent protein intake. You also eat an overabundance of starches i.e. chips, pasta, cookies and tortilla. Not bad for one or two meals a day but for each meal not ideal Look at 10/10/12 & 10/11/12. Avoid skipping meals as it causes you to overeat on the next meal and does not aid in speeding up your metabolism. Baseline for cardio should be 30 min. or longer. We don’t start to burn our reserved fat until the 20 min. mark unless you have reached maximal heart rate levels for a suspended amount of time. Good job on your water and multi-vitamin. This is a start and a very good one! Look forward and grow!

To my defense, when I cook, I cook in large portions so I can feast on it all week. With that being said, after making that Chicken Pesto w/ wheat pasta (mushrooms & green peppers), I ate it for lunch and dinner for at least three days straight. Hey! I thought I was doing good ‘cause the pasta was wheat. LoL! Anyway, I’m still learning, and Lord knows I got A LOT to learn. **G.I.G.**

P.S. – I almost forgot to tell you guys that I found a really cool website with an abundance of health tips. It’s called Food Heaven Made Easy. Check it out!
