New Look & Great Weekend

Hi guys! I just wanted to do this post to share a few things. First, let me say I had a great weekend. I spent the weekend in Atlanta, which is always an enjoyable time because I get to hang out with family and friends that I don’t get to see as often as I’d like. One of which is the lovely Snohti (photographed above), and also my sister and brother-in-law (and many others Smile).

Snohti Bday

Since Friday was Snohti’s birthday, my weekend began with celebrating her birthday at “Shout” restaurant in downtown Atlanta. The evening was filled with great conversation, continuous smiles & laughter…oh, and delicious food! I’m usually like the paparazzi when it comes to taking photos, but I couldn’t find my camera! Subsequently, I didn’t take nearly as many pics as I wanted to (the entire weekend). The camera on my phone did okay, but my phone kept dying on me…ugh!

The next day I spent some much needed quality time with my sis, and that night we went to formal event. This is what I wore:

Here are the outfit details:

The dress I wore was made for me by my seamstress, A.V. Foster. I basically picked out the fabric and showed her a picture of what I wanted it to look like (it’s a strapless peplum dress w/ a sweetheart neckline). I picked out this fabric for a few reasons: I loved the splash of gold against the black; I thought the colors were perfect for fall; and I thought it would look great with my new hair color. Yep, I got my hair colored! I’ll talk more about that shortly.

The shoes had to be about 5 or 6 inches tall, but yet they were super comfortable! I got them for Charlotte Russe for $15. Couldn’t beat that! Cute, comfortable, & cheap! LoL Smile

The bracelet came from Charming Charlie’s, and I loved it because it was one, two-toned piece but it gave the illusion of several stacked bracelets. And, since it was $13, it was definitely a great buy.

The earrings were borrowed from a friend, but she got them from Cato. I liked them so much that I went to the Cato to try to find them, but they were all out Sad smileNote: whenever wearing big earrings, you can opt out of wearing a necklace. There are times when you can wear both, but I tend to think they clash especially if it’s big earrings & a big necklace.

The purse was just a basic black, patent leather clutch that I bought from the GAP a few years ago.

New Hair Color

I know I said I was indecisive about coloring my hair, but I just decided to go ahead and do it. And, I’m so glad I did! I think the colors compliment my skin tone nicely. That’s all I’m going to say for now because I’m working on a video, which will disclose more details (yay!). So, be on the look out for that!…Side Note: I can’t say it enough, I love being natural! I loved the fact that when getting ready for the formal event, all I did to my hair was a wash-n-go, and that was it. My natural curls were “fancy” enough to go with my sassy outfit! Before, when I was relaxed, I always felt the need to go to the salon to get a “fancy” hairstyle to go with my formal attire…not anymore!

Finally, the weekend ended with church Sunday morning at World Changer’s Church (great message by Pastor Dollar – I took a ton of notes), and that night, after returning to Savannah, I attended an amazing revival at my church (The Seed Church).

Yes, it was a great weekend! **G.I.G.**
