Sometimes…Well, a lot of times, being a Christian is not the popular thing to do. The lifestyle we’re called to live, to most, seems strange, weird, and abnormal. “What do you mean, you don’t do this and you don’t that?,” they say. And, quite often, in their eyes, you’re just a square. Well, the way I see it, square is good! Yes, I’m a square peg and the world is a round hole; I’m not made to fit it. I’m God’s “peculiar” woman. First Peter 2:9 (NKJV) says,

But ye are a chose generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Peculiar is defined as “Unusual or eccentric; odd. Distinct from all others; strange” and “Belonging distinctly or primarily to one person, group; special or unique.” Don’t you see? God called us to be “unusual, eccentric, odd, strange, special & unique,” and He also called us to be “distinctively” His. I’m telling you this so you won’t get discouraged when you don’t fit in. And, whatever you do, don’t try to change yourself to be like everyone else. You were “called out of the darkness into His marvelous light,” so let your light shine; don’t conceal it…Pray that God gives you boldness & strength to be who you’re called to be, peculiar (your “peculiar” lifestyle brings Him glory). **G.I.G.**
