Keep It Moving

Source.

This post is for everyone who’s had a dream, goal, or an earnest desire for something only to see it come to fruition in someone else’s life.  Whether it’s a big promotion that comes with a corner office, or getting accepted into your ideal college. We’ve all been there. And, I’ll admit it’s a “tad” bit disheartening when you watch someone else receive what you’ve been praying & believing for day after day. I totally understand. Been there, done that, and I have a few souvenirs. LoL! That being said, I’m going to first tell you what not to do.

Do not, I repeat, do not covet. Why? 1) You don’t know what that person went through to get where they’re at. You didn’t witness the blood, sweat and tears they endured to get there. Many times you just see the end result, and think “That’s not fair!” To be honest, after seeing some of the things others went through to get where they’re at, I’m like “Lord, I’ll wait! I don’t want to go through that!” 2) Things aren’t always as they seem. Say you’re believing God for a new car, and your co-worker pulls into the parking lot with the exact car you wanted (down to color and year). Don’t covet, because you never know all the details. That person could be up to their eyeballs in debt! That’s not the kind of “blessing” I want. Lord, I’ll wait (and trust You)!

And, definitely don’t envy those who don’t serve God, because, when you serve God, you have promises to stand on that they don’t have! You have a future that they don’t have! Check out Proverbs 23:

Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is a latter end [a future and a reward], and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:17-18 AMP)

Now that I’ve shared what not to do, let’s talk about what to do. First, be happy for that person! Romans 12:15 (AMP) tells us, “Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy]…” This is your opportunity to bless someone with your joy & support, because when you get your breakthrough you’re going to want someone to rejoice with you. So, put self to the side and uplift someone else. NOTE: If you keep the right attitude, you’ll see someone else getting what you desired as encouragement. It will become a testimony that if God can do it for them, He can do it for you. Instead of discouraging you, it can actually build your faith if you let it.

Okay, now for the most important part. You must “Keep It Moving.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMP) says, “For we walk by faith not by sight or appearance.” This is important because as believers, we “commute” by faith.  If you want to draw closer to your dream, goal, or earnest desire you’ve got to “Keep It Moving.” And, the only way to do that is to walk by faith. If you conduct your life by what you see, it will definitely cause you to slow down and/or quit. You’ve got to fuel your faith by meditating on scriptures like Psalms 84:11, which says “No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” This will “rev up your engine” to keep going!

So, if everyone is embarking on your dreams except you, it’s your job to refrain from covetousness, and it’s also your job to rejoice with them (this will sow a tremendous seed that you’ll harvest in your season). But, most importantly, you must not let anything cause you to “pump your brakes” (i.e. stop having faith). Faith is the very “vehicle” that draws you closer to your dreams. So, keep it moving! **G.I.G.**
