waiting

Source.

Common ‘Symptoms’ Of Waiting: boredom, frustration, impatience, and anxiety. If you’ve experience these “symptoms,” which we all have, you’ve got waiting all wrong. Fear not, though! I’m going to give you a quick crash course on ‘How to Wait.’  Waiting is similar to recharging a cell phone. When a cell phone is almost out of juice, the best thing to do is to plug it into a power source so it can charge while you’re waiting to use it again. The same is true regarding anything you’re waiting for. The best way to wait is to plug yourself into “The Power Source,” so you can gain strength while you’re waiting. I know you’re probably thinking, “Plug in? Power source? Melissa, I’m not a cell phone.” When I say “plug yourself into The Power Source,” I’m saying you need to get closer to God while you’re waiting. You plug yourself in by praying and reading the Word. That’s how you “charge” your joy, your peace, your patience, and especially your strength while you’re waiting. This is what God promises:

Those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles; They run and don’t get tired; They walk and don’t lag behind. ~ Isaiah 40:31 (MSG)

“Fresh strength” is the “symptom” of waiting when you’re plugged into God. When you’re not plugged into His power you’ll suffer from “boredom, frustration, impatience, and anxiety,” which sounds a lot like “getting tired/weary” and “lagging behind/fainting.” Get plugged in! **G.I.G.**
