Dad

Source.

A father’s role is instrumental in a child’s life. That is why when a father is missing, the child subconsciously goes searching for other sources to fill that void. For those who do not have a father in your life, I encourage you to allow God to fill that void (and whether you have an active father or not, God can fill any void in your life). When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are automatically adopted into God’s family. You become joint heirs with Jesus, and God becomes your “Abba,” Father. Romans 8:15 (AMP) puts it like this:

…you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba, Father!

“Abba” means “daddy.” When I address my dad, I don’t say “father;” I say “daddy.” I believe “daddy” is more personal (it says he’s not just any dad; he’s yours). “Daddy” is also more informal, which signifies a comfortable relationship. And, that’s exactly the kind of relationship you can have with God, a comfortable relationship where you can always come to Him.

Many view a father as a provider. Well, that’s what God is. He is our “Jehovah-Jireh,” which means “The Lord Will Provide.” Many view a father as invincible/someone who offers security. God is “El-Shaddai” (The Almighty God) and “Jehovah-Nissi” (The Lord is Conqueror). Most importantly, a father is someone we all need to be there/in our lives. Subsequently, God is “Jehovah-Shammah,” which means “The Lord is There.”…He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you, so won’t you accept His love today? **G.I.G.**

P.S. – God has blessed me with two daddys, and I would like to wish them both a Happy Father’s Day!
